Over time, our bodies accumulate toxins not only from environmental substances such as smog, but also from our lack of responsibility for the food we feed it. I’m talking about all those processed and artificial “foods”, frozen boxes to throw in the microwave, bags of oily chips covered in chemicals or alcohol from those fun nights out. Our body does so much for us even though we literally poison it. It works overtime to remove the harmful substances we give it in order to keep us healthy and strong. It’s been doing this for you for decades. Isn’t it time to thank him and give him gifts in return? He will definitely appreciate it!

These recipes include a little bit of everything: refreshing, flavorful, spicy, warm and hearty. They are super simple and quick to make. Basically, you have no excuse not to detox.


Berry Lemonade

Blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries (any berry!) are great antioxidants. Lemons have endless benefits and many surprising uses. Physically speaking, they are a powerful tool for cleansing and detoxifying your body. They balance pH levels, aid digestion, regulate the intestines, clean and smooth the skin and can be used for weight loss. To make this lemonade, mix the following ingredients, add ice and enjoy:

  • 3 lemon juice (include fiber, they are good for the intestine!)
  • 50g blueberries
  • 50g blackberries
  • 50g raspberries
  • 3 tablespoons raw, unrefined sugar
  • 1.5 liters of water

Lemon Strawberry Smoothie

Once again we combine the powers of lemons and berries. This recipe is ideal for hot weather with the refreshing flavors of lemon and mint leaves combined with the sweetness of strawberries. Puree these ingredients in a blender:

  • 1 lemon juice
  • 2 handfuls of organic strawberries
  • 5 to 7 mint leaves
  • 1 tablespoon raw, unrefined sugar or agave syrup (optional)
  • ½ cup of water

Cocoa-ginger shake

Ginger is an excellent antioxidant that promotes the release of toxins through sweat, improves blood circulation and strengthens your immune system. It flushes the body, aids digestion and burns fat, so it’s also ideal for those trying to lose weight. Add the following ingredients to a blender and blend until liquefied and slightly foamy:

  • 3 tablespoons grated ginger (add more or less depending on your personal spice preference)
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 cups of almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon raw, unrefined sugar or agave syrup (optional)

Mint, Mango and Spinach Smoothie

Spinach is great for our liver and helps cleanse our body of toxins. Likewise, avocado helps our liver detoxify and does an amazing job in removing toxins from our body. Blend the following green (and golden) vegetables for a delicious detox drink:

  • 3 handfuls of spinach
  • ½ of an avocado, diced
  • 1 mango, diced
  • 5-7 mint leaves
  • 1 cup of water

Ginseng, ginger and almond tea

We already know how good ginger is, but ginseng is also amazing. This plant helps us by strengthening the immune system and cleansing toxins from our body. Almonds eliminate impurities and toxic accumulations present in our intestines. You will need the following ingredients for this tea treatment:

  • Ginseng tea bag (You can use your favorite brand of tea. I use YogiTea – it’s organic, tastes delicious, and the tea bags come with quotes of wisdom that I like to reflect on while drinking the tea.)
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated ginger
  • 1 cup hot water (boil then let cool for a minute as boiling can kill most of the beneficial factors in the ingredients)
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • 1 teaspoon raw, unrefined sugar (optional)

A cleansed temple
